WELCOME TO DAYTONA BEACH
Our journey continues, the year is 2006 and life is spiraling out of control, so when Cathy’s sisters husband, Big Jim calls one weekday out of the blue wanting to know if Cathy and I wanted to take a couple of his bikes out for a ride that upcoming weekend, we were all over the opportunity. It had been a LONG time sense I was behind the throttle of a bike and was a little apprehensive about the long rides that I was a where that Jim liked to take. As we washed the bikes in preparation for the day’s events I told Jim to take it easy on me and it had been awhile sense I rode. He smiled and laughed a big, hearty laugh and we were off. The ride started around 7:30 that morning and after a quick breakfast a couple miles from his house we were heading down the back roads of central Florida, somewhere midafternoon we were a couple hundred miles from home cruising the main strip of Daytona Beach. We stopped to enjoy diner at some out of the way riverfront restaurant that had some amazing food. As the sun was setting we were racing back toward his house, still a hundred miles or so away. What an amazing day we all had. Life is great.
